TransCape is based in the rural Eastern Cape of South Africa, an area faced with a poignant context of poverty, poor health and dysfunctional educational systems, populated by the thriving energy of people who want to live full and healthy lives. TransCape works with the Xhosa people they serve to find sustainable solutions for the diverse development challenges they face.
TransCape is Registered as a Non-Profit Organization with the Department of Social Development (035-619 NPO) and a Public Beneficiary Organzation with tax exempt number RG/0059/01/06 and PBO file No 930 018 201.
Since 2005 TransCape provides an HIV counselling service at homes, clinics and schools as well as health awareness events in communities and schools within Ngqeleni District. They provide emergency patient transport in Mankosi community.

Transcape runs a preschool, afterschool, and scholarship program through the Mdumbi Education Centre since 2007. In 2019 they opened a skills development centre. These projects are focused on the Mankosi community.
Since 2008 TransCape assists people in Ngqeleni District to start interest free micro finance businesses. They have implemented different children in need projects. They founded and manage the Mdumbi Green Fair music festival, the TransCape Run and the Tshani Athletic Club to stimulate culture, arts and sports development in the local Xhosa culture.
We are a connected community comprising of holistic, healthy and empowered individuals in an optimally developed and fairly managed, sustainable environment.
